Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer - Fabrication Manufacturing Readiness. You will drive manufacturability and producibility for complex aerospace components, manage CAD/CAM tooling, and lead readiness for new product introductions across GE Shops and suppliers.

You will collaborate with design, quality, and supply chain teams, apply Lean/Six Sigma methods, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years manufacturing engineering experience in fabrication environments, preferably aerospace or highly regulated industries.
  • Proven track record leading manufacturing readiness projects for new product introductions.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal forming, welding, brazing, and additive manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (NX, CATIA, Mastercam).
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies applied to complex fabrication processes.
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Drive manufacturing readiness for complex fabrication processes from concept to production launch.
  • Collaborate with design, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure DFM/DFA.
  • Develop and implement robust manufacturing plans including process flow, tooling, and layouts.
  • Lead technical reviews and provide expertise on fabrication capabilities and limitations.
  • Conduct process capability studies and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify and implement advanced manufacturing technologies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Manage project schedules and budgets for readiness activities.
  • Mentor junior engineers and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
