Job summary

Rivian in Sunnyvale, California, seeks a Senior Field Service Technician to lead complex vehicle diagnostics and field operations. The role combines on-site service center work with potential remote support, travel to remote locations, or plant visits to provide advanced field assistance.

Qualifications

5 to 8+ years of automotive repair experience.
3 to 8+ years of hands-on HV system experience.
Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Proven background in continuous improvement and escalation management.

Responsibilities

Perform bumper-to-bumper diagnostics and repairs in service centers and field locations.
Provide high-level diagnostic guidance and remote troubleshooting for field teams.
Coach, mentor, and train junior technicians and cross-functional partners.
Utilize diagnostic tools to resolve complex HV and network faults.
Conduct road tests to verify repair quality and drive standardization across workflows.
Oversee complex parts operations including ordering, receiving, inventory and billing.
Produce documentation and root-cause analysis for engineering feedback.
Engage professionally with customers, suppliers and internal teams during escalations.
