Job summary

Core & Main is seeking an experienced estimator to lead the department's estimating effort, mentoring a team of estimators and guiding cost analysis across projects. The role focuses on pricing equipment, material and labor and developing cash flow and escalation calculations for bids.

You will gather data for conceptual and hard bid estimates, prepare quotes on new work and coordinate continuations. The position emphasizes stakeholder management and problem solving under uncertainty.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• BS/BA in related discipline with 5–8 years of experience or MS/MA with 3–5 years; certification required in some areas.

Responsibilities

• Directs scope by organizing and pricing equipment, material, and labor cost items in estimates.
• Develops cash flow, escalation and interest calculations for estimates.
• Gathers, calculates and compiles data for conceptual/hard bid estimates.
• Prepares cost estimates and price quotes on new work.
• Coordinates the preparation of cost estimates on project continuations.
• Proactively seeks additional subcontractor and supplier relationships while maintaining existing ones.
• Develops analyses to aid in setting contingency for estimates.
• Provides input, training and mentors other team members.
