Job summary

Core & Main is seeking an Estimating Lead to manage the department's estimating efforts and guide the team on projects nationwide. You will direct scope, pricing, and data for cost items, ensuring accurate quotes for new and ongoing work.

The role emphasizes leadership, data-driven analysis, and mentoring of junior estimators within a large, nationwide infrastructure products company.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related discipline; 5-8 years of experience in related field; MS/MA with 3-5 years of experience in related field.
• Strong estimating and cost data management.
• Ability to lead estimators and guide project teams.

Responsibilities

• Directs the scope by organizing and pricing equipment, material, and labor cost items in estimates.
• Directs the development of cash flow, escalation and interest calculations for estimates.
• Gathers, calculates and compiles data for conceptual/hard bid estimates.
• Prepares cost estimates and price quotes on new work.
• Coordinates the preparation of cost estimates on project continuations.
• Proactively seeks additional subcontractor and supplier relationships, maintaining existing ones.
• Develops analyses to aid in setting contingency for estimates.
• Provides input, training and mentors other team members.
