Job summary

Quanta Services Inc., via North Houston Pole Line in Houston, seeks a Lead Estimator to develop accurate and competitive bids for high‑voltage transmission line and substation projects. This role manages the estimating process from bid kickoff to proposal submission, coordinates with operations and leadership, and uses Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project to build schedules and pricing.

Preferred candidates will have 5+ years in HV transmission estimation and experience pricing lump-sum,

Qualifications

• Five+ years estimating high-voltage transmission projects (69–765 kV).
• Experience with lump-sum, unit-price and time and materials bids.
• Ability to interpret bid documents and identify risks.

Responsibilities

• Manage estimates from bid kickoff to proposal submission for HV transmission and substation projects.
• Review documents to define scope, perform quantity takeoffs, and identify commercial risks.
• Build labor and equipment estimates using production rates considering site constraints.
• Evaluate subcontractor quotes and incorporate competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with operations to establish construction methods and bid schedules.
• Assemble complete proposal packages and present to leadership for approval.
• Maintain pricing libraries and improve bid processes over time.
