Job summary

ByteDance is seeking an architect-level contributor to design and drive enterprise AI agent capabilities and AI harness platforms. The role covers from concept to production, partnering with product, engineering, data and security to align AI capabilities with business goals.

You will establish architecture principles, ensure governance, and mentor teams while focusing on reliability, cost efficiency, and scalable AI solutions across the organization.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with two or more of: web apps, Unix/Linux, distributed systems, networking, large software systems.
• 5+ years software development, preferably Golang or Python.
• Experience driving enterprise AI adoption across multiple business units.
• Architect-level ownership with product management responsibilities.
• Understanding of AI system tradeoffs including cost, latency, accuracy and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Define the architecture and roadmap for enterprise AI agent platforms and governance.
• Lead design and adoption of AI harness platforms and RAG-based knowledge bases.
• Partner with product, engineering, data, security, and business teams to identify high-value AI use cases.
• Provide technical leadership on AI reliability, observability, cost optimization, and privacy.
• Apply product management thinking to platform vision and adoption metrics.
• Mentor engineers through architecture reviews, prototypes, and implementation guidance.
