Job summary

Pickett, an ESP Associates company, is seeking a Lead Engineer to provide senior-level engineering expertise on complex utility distribution projects. The role involves hands-on design review, team leadership, and ensuring client requirements are met on quality and schedule.

You will supervise engineers, manage project work, mentor the team, and develop client relationships while delivering design submissions and proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.
• 10+ years of overhead and underground distribution engineering experience is required.
• Solid understanding of electrical design and distribution equipment is essential.
• Knowledge of CSA/IEC/NESC standards is expected.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of engineers, technicians, and drafters.
• Communicate clear expectations, goals, and vision.
• Manage the performance of the team and delegate project work.
• Motivate, coach and mentor team members.
• Manage projects, ensure quality of work and on-time delivery.
• Review and approve engineering design submittals.
• Develop lasting relationships with clients.
• Estimate projects and develop proposals.
