Job summary

Pickett, an ESP Associates company, seeks a Lead Engineer to provide senior engineering leadership on complex utility distribution projects. You will ensure client requirements are met on quality and schedule while guiding a team of engineers, technicians, and drafters.

The role involves hands-on design review, project management, and mentoring to deliver overhead and underground distribution solutions in compliance with CSA/IEC/NESC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required).
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification (preferred).
• 10+ years in overhead/underground distribution engineering for electric utilities (required).
• Strong knowledge of electrical design: conductors, switchgear, fuses and distribution equipment (required).
• Familiarity with CSA/IEC/NESC standards and utility engineering codes.
• Experience with overhead systems design and PLS-CADD (preferred).
• Understanding of structural, civil, and geotechnical aspects of distribution engineering (preferred).
• Strong project management skills (preferred).
• Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
• Self-starter, thrives in unstructured, deadline-driven environments.
• Collaborative communicator with teammates in the electric utility industry.
• Effective verbal and technical writing skills.
• Able to pass drug screen, background check, and MVR policy.
