Job summary
Pickett, an ESP Associates company, is seeking a Lead Engineer to provide leadership and senior-level engineering expertise on complex utility distribution projects. The role includes hands-on design review and guidance for overhead and underground distribution facilities, feeders, and related equipment.
Responsibilities include ensuring client requirements, quality, schedule deadlines, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.
- 10+ years of overhead and underground distribution engineering experience in electric utility industry required.
- Knowledge of CSA/IEC/NESC standards and codes and major utility engineering standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of engineers, technicians, and drafters.
- Communicate clear expectations, goals, and vision.
- Manage the performance of the team and delegate project work.
- Motivate, coach and mentor team members.
- Manage projects, ensure quality of work and on-time delivery.
- Review and approve engineering design submittals.
- Develop lasting relationships with clients.
- Estimate projects and develop proposals.
