Job summary

Columbia University Information Technology is seeking a Manager, Endpoint Security & M365 Engineering to lead Windows security patching and the day-to-day engineering of the M365 environment. The role reports to the Senior Director, End User Computing & Email Systems and involves ThreatDown and CrowdStrike administration, migration to SharePoint, and investigation of endpoint alerts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• 5–7 years related experience.
• 2+ years Windows systems administration.
• M365 experience required.
• Excellent troubleshooting and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assign tickets to engineers based on project work duties.
• Provides ongoing support of the system infrastructure, including automation, processes, hardware and software.
• Leads the planning and implementation of upgrades and installations.
• Monitors automated reports and/or responds to alerts for multiple hardware and software issues.
• Leads the efforts to migrate departments to more secure systems.
• Fields queries from Academic Computing, Electronic Classrooms, Desktop Support, end users, developers, and operations staff regarding availability, performance or functionality problems.
• Works with vendors and other CUIT staff to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Processes onboarding & offboarding requests for users.
• Creates documentation for engineering and support teams reference.
• Weekend and off-hour work may be necessary on occasion.
• All other duties as assigned.
