Job summary

Gotham Technology Group seeks an experienced Lead EUC Engineer in New York to own the design, delivery, and lifecycle of core M365 services such as SharePoint Online, Exchange Online and OneDrive. Job description

Our hedge fund client is seeking a lead-level engineer to join their End User Computing (EUC) team, anchored in the Microsoft 365 (M365) ecosystem with scope into adjacent EUC areas. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role focused on solution design, delivery, and operational excellence — not people management. Leadership is expressed through service ownership: you'll own core services, shape their long-term direction, and independently lead projects from concept through production.

What You'll Do

• Own the design, delivery, and lifecycle of core M365 collaboration services (SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, OneDrive) — architecture, configuration governance, roadmap planning, and escalation-level troubleshooting.
• Design and maintain access and data controls across Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Purview, including Conditional Access and compliance policies, in close partnership with InfoSec, Legal, Compliance, and business-facing application teams.
• Build automation with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph to drive policy deployment, configuration consistency, proactive remediation, and operational efficiency — reducing manual effort for EUC and service desk teams.
• Independently lead projects end to end: scoping, sequencing, coordinating cross-team dependencies, and driving delivery as the accountable owner. Partner across the firm to design and deliver new capabilities including AI/Copilot enablement, enterprise mobility (MDM), and support for teams building against Microsoft Graph and M365.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex technical issues, providing guidance and mentoring to service desk and operations teams.
• Track evolving Microsoft ecosystem best practices (enterprise security, tenant governance, collaboration lifecycle management) and translate them into firm standards.

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of hands-on EUC engineering experience; degree in computer science or related field preferred.
• Deep expertise in M365 core services (SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, OneDrive) — architecture, governance, and best practices.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID (including Conditional Access); Microsoft Purview experience a strong plus.
• Proficiency in PowerShell and automation via Microsoft Graph and M365 services.
• Proven track record owning solution design and delivery end to end, independently leading complex, multi-team projects.
• Experience as a senior escalation point and mentor for service desk/operations teams.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to work effectively across technical and business stakeholders.
