Job summary

Regal Rexnord is seeking a Software Engineering Manager in Radford, Virginia, to drive product planning, execution, and team leadership for servo drive software. You’ll shape firmware priorities, align roadmaps with Product Management, and guide major software efforts from concept to release.

You will lead a cross-functional team in a hands-on, agile environment focused on quality and features, with growth opportunities and a center-stage role in industrial motion applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years of software leadership experience (project or people leadership).
• Experience working with embedded software teams.
• Software Product Leadership: backlog flow, feature planning, and cross-team execution.
• Technical Leadership: guide software teams on architecture, product direction, and major project execution.
• Planning and Prioritization: coordinate priorities between Engineering, Customer Support, and Product Management.
• Communication: clear communication with engineers, managers, application engineers, and product stakeholders.
• Decision Quality: good judgment in tradeoffs, scope, risk, and execution timing.
• Team Leadership: align teams, remove blockers, and maintain progress.

Responsibilities

• Own software backlog priorities, technical direction, and release planning.
• Turn product goals into clear development plans, stories, and execution priorities.
• Coordinate product roadmaps with Product Management and other technical leaders.
• Lead major software efforts for servo drive products, including scope and priorities.
• Drive planning and requirements definitions to teams to build the right products.
• Provide people leadership to embedded software engineers.
• Promote collaboration between engineering teams during planning and execution.
• Mentor engineers in software development and engineering practices.
• Responsibilities may scale with experience and additional tasks may be assigned.
