AeroVironment is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive computer vision and perception software for DoD and commercial use, focusing on low-Swap processors and embedded platforms. The role blends hands-on coding with mentoring junior engineers and leading software efforts.

You will design, implement, and optimize CV pipelines, contribute to testing, documentation, and customer-facing reports while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics or equivalent.
• 8-12 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Strong C/C++ skills and data structures knowledge.
• Experience with CMake and modern C++ build systems.
• Experience with Python for tooling and scripting.
• Experience with Ubuntu/CentOS Linux, unit tests, and debugging.

Responsabilidades

• Implements and optimizes computer vision and perception algorithms in C++ for low-Swap embedded processors.
• Supports testing and demonstration of components and integrated systems.
• Develops documentation, technical reports, and customer-facing inputs.
• Creates software design documentation per process guidance and senior input.
• Writes tests and ensures code quality; contributes to process improvements.
• Delivers work on time per project schedule and budget; supports algorithm design from requirements.
• Collaborates with other software developers to reuse software across programs.
• Guides less experienced engineers and mentors peers.
