Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Electronics Manufacturing in Huntsville seeks a Principal Electronics Manufacturing Test Engineer to design, architect, and govern automated test equipment and software frameworks for complex electronic and electro-mechanical systems.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safety and readiness of critical defense assets while coordinating with internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering with 12–15 years of relevant experience or MS with 10–13 years.
• Experience deploying automated test equipment (ATE) in defense manufacturing.
• Expert-level LabVIEW/TestStand/Python development for test systems.
• Strong skills in SPC, MSA, and test-limit optimization.

Responsibilities

• Define overarching test strategy and standards across programs.
• Architect and implement complex test software frameworks.
• Develop test hardware to maximize coverage.
• Lead cross-functional engineering teams and TRR/FRB reviews.
• Perform root-cause analysis for complex failures.
• Apply statistics to minimize false failures and improve yield.
• Establish engineering documentation standards.
