Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Principal Electrical Test Engineer to lead electrical integration, verification, and qualification of advanced defense electronics for DoD and national security customers. You will develop test strategies, fixtures, and automated solutions, interfacing with systems engineering, hardware, software, and government customers.

The role requires hands-on testing across board, subsystem, and system levels, strong root-cause analysis, and the ability to navigate classified

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
8–12 years of relevant experience or 6–10 years with a Master's degree.
U.S. Citizenship required with ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.
Experience developing electrical verification and qualification procedures.
Experience troubleshooting complex military electronic systems.
Experience using automated test equipment and lab instrumentation.
Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, PCB layouts, and ICDs.
Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute electrical integration, verification, validation, qualification, and production acceptance test plans and procedures.
Design, develop, and fabricate electrical test fixtures, interface adapters, harnesses, and breakout boxes for development and production testing.
Design and implement electrical test architectures for complex defense electronic systems.
Develop automated test solutions using LabVIEW, TestStand, MATLAB, Python, or similar tools.
Integrate and troubleshoot electrical hardware at board, subsystem, and system levels.
Perform verification testing using lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power supplies).
Support system integration for military comms, RF subsystems, embedded processors, and digital electronics.
Analyze electrical performance, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
Support environmental qualification, EMI/EMC pre-compliance/testing.
Support HIL and system integration labs, data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.
Prepare technical documentation for design reviews and qualification programs.
Support FAT, SAT, and customer witness testing.
