Job summary

Leidos Inc. Defense Systems Manufacturing seeks a Principal Electronics Manufacturing Test Engineer to architect and govern deployment of advanced automated test equipment (ATE) and software frameworks for complex electronic systems.

You will lead cross-functional teams, drive TRR and root-cause investigations, and mentor engineers to ensure safety, reliability, and readiness of critical assets across military and commercial programs.

Qualifications

• BS degree and 12–15 years (or MS with 10–13 years) of relevant defense-electronics experience.
• Proven track record deploying automated test equipment (ATE) in high-rel/defense manufacturing.
• Experience with electronic assembly testing, including In-circuit functional testers.
• Expert-level software development in NI LabVIEW, TestStand, or Python.
• Advanced schematic capture, PCB design, and signal integrity analysis.
• Strong SPC, test limit optimization, and MSA background.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define overarching test strategy and instrumentation roadmaps across programs.
• Architect and oversee complex test software frameworks using NI LabVIEW, TestStand, or Python.
• Develop test hardware to maximize coverage.
• Lead and mentor cross-functional teams and conduct TRR and failure review boards.
• Lead root-cause investigations for complex failures down to component level.
• Apply SPC, ANOVA, and Six Sigma to minimize false-failures and improve yield.
• Establish engineering standards for schematics, procedures, and CM.
• Work on a range of military and commercial products.
