Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors in Greenville, SC seeks an experienced lead designer for electrical and instrumentation projects. You will supervise a team of designers and provide technical direction to ensure on-time delivery within budget and quality expectations.

Responsibilities include producing detailed electrical installation designs, MCC and 15kV/5kV equipment specs, and coordinating with other disciplines. Strong NEC knowledge and mentoring skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD required.
• 12+ years of experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design.
• Familiarity with NEC and design standards.
• Ability to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection.
• Ability to develop 480VAC and 15kV/5kV equipment specs.
• Ability to lead a design team and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Strong communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of designers.
• Deliver electrical and instrumentation designs on time and within budget.
• Produce installation details, MCC single lines, layouts and grounding plans.
• Provide technical guidance to junior staff and coordinate with discipline leads.
• Assist during startup and monitor project scope changes.
• Develop and verify equipment specifications for 480VAC and 15kV/5kV systems.
• Estimate construction quantities and prepare cost estimates.
• Coordinate with clients and other disciplines on project requirements.
