Job summary

HDR is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join its Power Generation and Renewables team. The role involves day-to-day electrical engineering and design for power facilities, including simple/combined cycle, PV solar, and storage projects.

The candidate will lead design teams, perform power system analyses and develop detailed design packages while coordinating with HDR disciplines. Travel to project sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by licensing board.
• 6+ years of related experience in power generation.
• Experience with design for simple/combined cycle gas turbines, renewables, coal and hydroelectric.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and coordinate design teams through schematic and contract document phases.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and designers.
• Prepare detailed design packages for generation and storage facilities.
• Prepare engineering calculations and reports (load flow, short circuit, grounding, arc flash).
• Lead modifications including relay upgrades and plant control system upgrades.
• Develop input/output lists and interface with plant control systems.
