Job summary

HDR is seeking an Electrical Engineer for Power & Renewables in a full-time capacity. You will lead design teams through schematic design to contract documents, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate workload to ensure on-time delivery.

Field visits, client interaction, and preparation of detailed design packages for generation and storage facilities are key responsibilities. The role requires a PE license or eligibility, a Bachelor's in Engineering, and 6+ years in power market projects,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or recognized by local licensing board.
• 6+ years of related experience in Power Market Sector.
• Experience design for simple/combined cycle gas turbines, renewables, coal and hydroelectric.
• Electrical powerhouse and balance of plant controls and power systems knowledge.
• Experience developing proposals and estimates for Power Generation and Renewable projects.
• Proficiency with standard Power Market Sector design software (PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interface with clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and coordinate design teams through schematic design and contract document phases.
• Mentor less experienced electrical engineers and designers.
• Coordinate workload to meet schedule and deliverables.
• Serve as primary client contact for projects with significant electrical scope.
• Perform field visits with Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Prepare detailed design packages for generators, transformers, switchgear, and power systems.
• Develop I/O lists and interface with plant control systems; create testing and commissioning plans.
