Job summary

Stratus® is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to lead electrical power systems design across projects and coordinate with other engineering disciplines. The role involves ensuring quality, managing drawings, specifications, and interfacing with clients from proposal through execution.

The candidate should have a BSc in electrical engineering with 10+ years in petrochemical/oil & gas/power sectors and a PE license. Strong knowledge of NFPA, IEEE, and area classifications is essential.

Qualifications

BSc in electrical engineering with ≥10 years’ petrochemical/oil & gas/power/metallurgical experience.
PE license required; ability to register with NCEES and in other states.
Lead quality management of discipline work processes and deliverables.
Power system studies (short circuit, load flow, protective coordination, arc flash) with SKM/ETAP/EasyPower.
Specify large electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs) and related devices.
NFPA/NEMA/IEEE/IEC codes knowledge; strong client interaction and teamwork.
Consulting experience preferred; TWIC eligibility a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop electrical power systems deliverables including one-line, three-line, schematics, cabling, grounding documents.
Size and select electrical equipment; develop specifications and data sheets.
Design lighting, grounding, cable tray; size conduit, wires, and motors.
Review shop drawings; interface with suppliers, clients and other disciplines.
Prepare construction drawings and specification packages.
