Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical discipline on multiple data center projects through pursuit, design, and construction phases. You will act as the engineer of record and guide other electrical staff, while supporting proposals and business development with project teams and clients.

You will design power distribution, lighting, telecom, and fire alarm systems for data centers, travel to project sites for surveys, and coordinate with professionals to ensure safety,

Qualifications

• Consulting engineering design experience producing IFC drawings for data centers.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in engineering.
• State-issued professional engineering license preferred.
• Understanding telecom and fire alarm design including prescriptive, performance-based design as well as full detailed design.

Responsibilities

• Inter-discipline knowledge of data center facility systems, with primary expertise in electrical design for data centers.
• Lead design teams to develop construction-ready drawing packages with inter-discipline coordination.
• Design for available capacity, redundancy, reliability, efficiency, and safety, as well as constructability and cost.
• Travel to project sites for engineering site surveys, data collection for system studies, system audits and collaboration with clients’ team members.
• Develop strong industry relationships with other design professionals.
• Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and safety standards such as NFPA, NEC, NETA, ANSI, IEEE, UL, UFC, UBC as well as international standards such as IEC, CE, EN.
• Fluency in design and modelling software (AutoCAD, Revit, Elum Tools, BIM360, SKM, ETAP, EDSA, Easy Power).
• Perform various system studies (arc flash, load, short circuit, coordination). Experience developing solutions to complex projects.
