Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical discipline across data center projects from pursuit through construction. You will serve as engineer of record and mentor staff in data center power distribution, lighting, telecom, and fire alarm systems.

Based in Boston, MA, you will collaborate with project teams, clients, and other engineers to design for reliability, redundancy, and energy efficiency, while ensuring compliance with NFPA, NEC, IEEE, IEC and other standards.

Qualifications

• Consulting engineering design experience producing IFC drawings for data centers.
• BS in electrical engineering or equivalent. 8+ years of relevant experience in engineering.
• State-issued professional engineering license preferred.
• Understanding of telecom and fire alarm design including prescriptive, performance-based design as well as full detailed design

Responsibilities

• Lead design teams to develop construction-ready drawing packages with inter-discipline coordination.
• Design for available capacity, redundancy, reliability, efficiency, and safety.
• Travel to project sites for engineering site surveys, data collection for system studies, system audits and collaboration with clients’ team members.
• Develop strong industry relationships with other design professionals.
• Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and safety standards such as NFPA, NEC, NETA, ANSI, IEEE, UL, UFC, UBC as well as international standards such as IEC, CE, EN.
• Fluency in design and modelling software (AutoCAD, Revit, Elum Tools, BIM360, SKM, ETAP, EDSA, Easy Power).
• Perform various system studies (arc flash, load, short circuit, coordination). Experience developing solutions to complex projects.
