Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Lead Electrical Designer to support EPC power generation projects. You will manage a design team developing electrical raceway systems and coordinate with engineering and construction to ensure safe, constructible, and cost-effective designs.

Based in a supported office location across North America, you will oversee budgets, schedules, and resources, mentor designers, and drive project delivery from concept through commissioning in a construction-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in electrical design required.
• Experience leading electrical design teams.
• Experience managing budget and schedule.
• Power generation experience preferred.
• Experience in SmartPlant 3D.
• Ability to conceptualize in a 3D environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a group of electrical designers in developing electrical raceway systems.
• Manage electrical design activities against project schedule and budget.
• Track and report design progression to project management.
• Complete monthly reports for quantities, schedule and forecasting.
• Interface with construction to ensure design is safe, constructible, and low cost.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, engineers and construction on the design.
• Check design deliverables for accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Utilize applicable engineering codes.
• Coordinate with the project team using project databases and related processes.
• Support project development with miscellaneous tasks.
• Act as a field resource to assist construction in field resolution.
• Mentor the design team.
