Job summary

MPW Industrial Water is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to design, program, test, commission, and improve electrical power and control systems for industrial water treatment solutions. You’ll own assigned electrical deliverables and drive projects from design through startup, collaborating with engineering, fabrication, operations, field service, vendors, and customers.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 3+ years of relevant electrical, controls, automation, or systems engineering experience.
• Bachelor-level engineering or hands-on equivalent in Electrical Engineering/Automation preferred.
• Experience with industrial power and control systems, Allen‑Bradley PLC platforms preferred.
• Knowledge of Ethernet/IP networking, CAD drafting, and NEC requirements.
• Ability to develop, troubleshoot, and support PLC/HMI programs and system documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical and controls engineering projects from concept through design, testing, commissioning, and implementation.
• Develop high-level electrical and controls design concepts from project requirements and P&IDs.
• Design electrical power distribution and low-voltage control power applications.
• Develop control system architecture including PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, safety systems, and networks.
• Create control panels, CAD docs, and support panel assembly and system integration.
• Develop, validate, and troubleshoot PLC/HMI programs per MPW standards.
• Review designs and documentation for compliance with standards and best practices.
• Lead or support testing, commissioning, and functional verification of equipment.
