Job summary

MP Materials is seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to join the growing Electrical Engineering team. You will design, develop, and optimize electrical systems supporting diverse processes across the facility, collaborating with controls, operations, and mechanical teams to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
• 3+ years of electrical design experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical for schematics and layouts.
• Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, IEC, OSHA, NRTL, and UL codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and support of low- and medium-voltage electrical systems for new facilities and expansions.
• Prepare 2D electrical design documentation including single-line diagrams and schematics.
• Review vendor submittals ensuring compliance with specs, safety standards, and codes.
• Collaborate across process, mechanical, controls, and civil teams for integrated systems.
• Perform electrical calculations, studies, and provide field support during construction and startup.
