Job summary

NOVEC in Manassas, VA is seeking a supervisor for its 24/7 Operations Center. This role involves overseeing the operations, monitoring reliability, and coordinating responses to emergencies related to the electric distribution system.

The ideal candidate should possess an Associate degree in electrical engineering or a related field, along with five to seven years of experience in managing programs and supervising personnel. A competitive salary and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electrical engineering or a related field is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five to seven years of related experience and/or training including management of programs and supervision of people is required.
• Experience in the operation of transmission and distribution systems and related equipment for power systems is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily activities of a 24/7 Operations Center.
• Monitors system service reliability and implements improvement plans.
• Coordinates response to emergency situations involving NOVEC facilities.
• Establishes and maintains systems verifying integrity of processes and data.
• Supervises operation and monitoring of Outage Management System.

Skills

Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment

Knowledge of company policies and applicable laws

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels

Ability to analyze data and make decisions

Ability to lead and motivate a team

Education
