Job summary

The successful candidate will develop complete distribution design packages using DDS, oversee overhead and underground systems, and coordinate with engineering teams to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience in electric utility distribution design with field data collection.
• Hands-on DDS usage for creating constructible distribution packages.
• Knowledge of overhead and underground distribution systems and standards.
• Ability to communicate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform field visits to gather data, evaluate existing infrastructure, and assess site conditions for electric distribution projects.
• Develop complete distribution design packages using DDS and established utility standards, specifications, and workflows.
• Support both overhead and underground distribution design projects.
• Serve as a technical subject matter expert for distribution design processes, tools, standards, and requirements.
• Coordinate with utility engineering teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs are accurate and delivered on schedule.
• Review project requirements and translate field conditions into constructible distribution designs.
• Help onboard, train, and mentor new distribution designers as the team expands.
• Support program growth and continuous improvement alongside engineering leadership.
• Provide technical guidance and help establish consistent design practices across the team.
