KDM Engineering is seeking a Distribution Designer to join our Pennsylvania team. You will independently design overhead and underground distribution systems, prepare construction drawings, BOMs and specifications, and provide technical guidance on challenging utility projects.

Based in Chesterbrook with a hybrid work model, you’ll collaborate with clients, project engineers, and permitting authorities, apply utility standards, and maintain accurate project documentation and reports.

Formación

• BS Electrical Engineering degree.
• 4+ years of prior industry experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, TED, Microsoft Office programs.
• Knowledge of PPL Electric Utilities standards and distribution design practices is preferred.
• Ability to work with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Responsabilidades

• Independently design overhead and underground utility distribution systems, following client and industry standards.
• Prepare construction drawings, cost estimates, material lists (BOMs), and specifications.
• Conduct field visits to gather data, verify site conditions, and obtain landowner permissions as needed.
• Coordinate with clients, project engineers, and permitting authorities.
• Apply utility standards (e.g., NESC) to ensure code compliance.
• Track project progress using client and internal systems.
• Prepare required reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Proficiency in design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, and GIS systems.
• Knowledge of pole loading and sag analysis tools (e.g., PoleForeman, O-Calc, SpidaCalc).
