Job summary

InnovAge Lead Driver – Participant Care transports frail and elderly participants from homes to Day Centers and appointments, and during field trips as part of activities. Additional duties include in-home meal and supply delivery, pre/post trip inspections, and maintaining vehicle safety.

The role collaborates with the Transportation Manager and Scheduler and may involve driving on Saturdays/holidays on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age and have six months prior experience with InnovAge in Driver position.
• Excellent driving record with no more than two points on your motor vehicle record.
• DOT and Defensive Driving experience.
• One year of experience working with the frail or elderly.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience can substitute.
• Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Drives InnovAge vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Loads/unloads participants and assists in and out of homes.
• Transports participants to pre-arranged appointments.
• Delivers in-home meals, supplies and medications, ensuring correct recipients.
• Assists participants with entry/exit and simple tasks.
• Communicates route events to Dispatch and maintenance needs.
• Participates in interdisciplinary care planning for PACE participants.
• Other duties as assigned.
