Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Lead Dispatcher to showcase exemplary dispatch skills, guide the shift, and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic transportation environment. The role focuses on meeting productivity and customer satisfaction goals while training staff.

The incumbent will backfill for dispatchers, ensure accurate forms, and collaborate with management to reach operational targets. Strong communication and MS Office skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two+ years experience in DOT, and driver routing; logistics/transportation experience preferred.
• Knowledge of transportation environment (shipping, receiving, inventory management) preferred.
• Knowledge of routing and dispatch software systems preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (intermediate) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead dispatchers to guide and answer questions during shifts.
• Address customer issues and resolve problems within scope; involve management when needed.
• Backfill for dispatchers as needed.
• Ensure forms for day-to-day operations are completed accurately.
• Provide training for new hires or additional staff training.
• Monitor productivity and advise management if goals are not met.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
