Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. in Boise, ID is seeking an experienced Technician I to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on a diverse fleet of vehicles. You will work with training, mentor others, and operate with minimal supervision.

This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and ongoing training. You'll use Penske tools and technology, log work, and contribute to a clean, efficient shop environment while supporting customers on the road.

Qualifications

• 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Specialized training in engines, transmissions and differentials; ASE and 608/609 preferred.
• Experience using welding, diagnostic equipment and a full set of tools.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred; DOT safety compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicles to ensure safety for customers.
• Perform preventive maintenance with minimal supervision.
• Repair major components (engines, transmissions, differentials) including assemblies.
• Keep work area clean and safe.
• Use Penske tools to log, research, and complete repairs; basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Learn new skills through Penske’s technician training.
• Support other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
