Job summary

Leidos seeks a Lead DevSecOps Platform Engineer to join the Air Traffic Business Area within Homeland Sector, supporting FAA modernization with scalable, cloud-based platforms.

You will own software delivery pipelines, GitLab administration, CI/CD, deployment automation, and security integration across the SDLC, collaborating with engineers, cybersecurity, and solution architects to ensure rapid, compliant deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field with 4–8 years of experience (Master's with 2–6 years).
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience developing and administering GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including runners, templates, and deployments.
• Experience administering GitLab repositories and merge requests workflows.
• Experience Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar tools.
• Experience deploying Docker/Kubernetes-based applications with Helm.
• Experience scripting in Bash or Python.
• Familiarity with Linux and command-line tools.
• Experience with AWS cloud services for modern deployments.
• Knowledge of software supply chain security and secure SDLC practices.
• Experience integrating automated testing and security scanning into CI/CD.
• Strong troubleshooting and collaboration skills; ability to obtain Public Trust; US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Own the implementation and operation of software delivery pipelines, from build through production release.
• Develop, administer, and maintain automated build, test, deployment, and release workflows using GitLab CI/CD, GitLab Runners, AWS CodePipeline, and related tools.
• Administer GitLab platform infrastructure (projects, groups, runners, repositories, permissions) and develop reusable CI/CD templates.
• Integrate automated security capabilities into pipelines (SAST, SCA, image scanning, secrets detection, IaC scanning).
• Design and maintain automated deployment strategies for Kubernetes-based apps using Helm and GitOps.
• Configure and administer GitLab Container Registry, artifact repositories, and dependency management solutions.
• Collaborate with Cloud Systems Owners to ensure cloud platforms support automated deployments and reliability.
• Improve build reliability, deployment consistency, and developer productivity through automation and self-service engineering.
• Work with cybersecurity teams to ensure SDLC security and compliance.
• Troubleshoot build failures, deployment issues, and pipeline performance across environments.
• Develop and maintain pipeline documentation, deployment procedures, and release management processes.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies while supporting multiple teams through automation and CI/CD.
