Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead DevSecOps Platform Engineer to join the Air Traffic Business Area and help modernize FAA-related flight service platforms. You will design, implement, and optimize secure software delivery pipelines, automate builds, tests, and deployments, and tightly integrate security across the SDLC.

In this role you will administer GitLab infrastructure, manage containers with Docker/Kubernetes, and collaborate with Cloud Systems Owners to ensure scalable, reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience or Master's with 2-6 years.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience developing and administering GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including runners, templates, variables, artifacts, and deployment workflows.
• Experience administering GitLab repositories, merge requests, branching, permissions, and workflows.
• Experience developing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar.
• Experience deploying containerized apps (Docker, Kubernetes) using Helm or similar.
• Experience automation with Bash, Python, or similar.
• Familiarity with Linux administration and CLI tools.
• Experience with AWS cloud services for modern deployments.
• Knowledge of software supply chain security, secrets, dependency management, and secure SDLC.
• Experience integrating automated testing and security scanning into CI/CD.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to obtain SF-85 Public Trust; US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Own the implementation and operation of software delivery pipelines from build to production release.
• Develop, administer, and maintain automated build, test, deployment, and release workflows using GitLab CI/CD, GitLab Runners, AWS CodePipeline, and CodeBuild.
• Administer GitLab platform infrastructure (projects, groups, runners, repositories, permissions); develop reusable CI/CD templates.
• Integrate automated security capabilities into pipelines (SAST, SCA, container scanning, secrets detection, IaC scanning, software supply chain security).
• Design and maintain automated deployment strategies for Kubernetes-based apps using Helm, GitOps, and progressive deployment.
• Configure and administer GitLab Container Registry, artifact repos, and dependency management.
• Collaborate with Cloud Systems Owners to support automated deployment, scalability, monitoring, and reliability.
• Improve build reliability, deployment consistency, release quality, and developer productivity via automation.
• Work with cybersecurity teams to ensure SDLC security and organizational compliance.
• Troubleshoot build failures, deployment issues, pipeline performance, and dependency management.
• Document pipelines, deployment procedures, release management, and engineering standards.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies supporting multiple teams through automation and CI/CD.
