Job summary

Leidos seeks a Lead DevSecOps Platform Engineer to join the Air Traffic Business Area, supporting secure software delivery platforms and automated pipelines.

You will enable automated build, test, security scanning, deployment, and release processes while integrating security across the SDLC. Collaboration with software engineers, cybersecurity, and solution architects is essential to meet FAA mission requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field with 4–8 years of experience, or a Master's with 2–6 years.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines for enterprise software.
• Experience developing and administering GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including Runners, templates, and deployment workflows.
• Experience administering GitLab repositories, merge requests, and permissions.
• Experience Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar.
• Experience deploying containerized apps (Docker, Kubernetes) using Helm or equivalents.
• Automation scripting in Bash or Python; Linux administration experience.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and software supply chain security.
• Ability to obtain SF-85 Public Trust; US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Own the implementation and operation of software delivery pipelines from build to production release.
• Develop and maintain automated build, test, deployment, and release workflows using GitLab and AWS tools.
• Administer GitLab platform infrastructure and create reusable CI/CD templates.
• Integrate automated security (SAST, SCA, container scans) into pipelines.
• Design deployment strategies for Kubernetes apps using Helm and GitOps.
• Collaborate with Cloud Systems Owners to support cloud deployment and reliability.
• Improve build reliability, deployment consistency, and developer productivity through automation.
• Work with cybersecurity teams to ensure lifecycle security and compliance.
• Troubleshoot build failures, deployment issues, and pipeline performance.
• Maintain pipeline documentation, procedures, and engineering standards.
