Job summary

Hornblower Corp is seeking a Senior Deckhand to supervise deckhand tasks and lead crew during vessel operations. The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and adherence to company procedures while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

The Senior Deckhand will stand bridge watch, assist in navigation, and be ready to command if the captain is unavailable. Weekend and holiday availability is required to support busy operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum three months experience as a Deckhand.
• TWIC Card or ability to obtain.
• First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain.
• Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Assign deck crew tasks and provide direction
• Stand bridge watch and assist in safe navigation and maneuvering
• Take command if captain becomes incapacitated
• Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers as prescribed in RSS
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vessel
• Load or unload materials from vessels
• Handle lines to moor vessels to pier when necessary
• Stand watch to look for obstructions or navigational aids
• Assist Engineer to operate and maintain ship equipment
• Escalate mechanical or maintenance issues to the Director of Marine
