Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Chief Engineer to ensure electrical, mechanical and fire/life safety systems operate at peak efficiency in our data centers. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and lead technicians to safeguard 99.999% uptime, while coordinating with vendors and internal teams.

You will oversee preventative maintenance, emergency response, and site projects, build out new facilities, and drive improvements with a focus on safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance experience.
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.
• 3+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.

Responsabilités

• Act as the primary escalation point for facilities issues.
• Oversee routine and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS, chillers and cooling towers.
• Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and coordinate with the Facility Manager to set team culture.
• Create and deploy new standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers, and vendor teams.
• Lead build-out of new facilities and assist in projects to increase facility efficiency.
• Work outside normal business hours for routine maintenance and emergencies.
• Communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Coordinate with IT managers to manage projects, capacity, safety and efficiency.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed by vendor and Amazon staff.
• Establish building performance benchmarks and report on facility operations.
