Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Chief Engineer in the United States, OH, Jeffersonville to lead electrical and mechanical systems within a data center. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, rapid corrective actions, and emergency response to protect mission-critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities include managing projects, coordinating quotes and costs, and documenting results for replication at other sites. Travel between data centers and training locations is required as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• 4+ years of data center experience including industrial electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.
• Experience leading technical teams through daily operations, maintenance evolutions, and complex troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center.
• Operate independently with limited direct management.
• Serve as escalation point for facilities-related issues within the data center.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Troubleshoot and report facility and data center events within internal SLA.
• Create and deploy standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians and vendor teams.
• Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians.
