Job summary

Digital Realty is seeking a Lead Engineer to oversee mission critical infrastructure operations, ensuring 24/7 coverage and reliable facility performance for our data center portfolio. You will inspect systems, coordinate maintenance, and guide teams to maintain safety, compliance, and performance.

Ideal candidates have an AA/AS or equivalent, data center experience, and strong HVAC, electrical, and mechanical skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (AA/AS) or equivalent; data center experience preferred.
• Trade license or certification obtained through technical education/training.
• Facilities maintenance certification required.
• Experience with mission critical data equipment and fast-paced environments.
• Strong HVAC, mechanical, and electrical skills and experience.
• Understanding of computer systems; proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and processes precisely.
• Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift, at least one weekend day, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to walk extensively, perform inspections outdoors when needed, and lift heavy objects.

Responsibilities

• Monitor building infrastructure systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, HVAC and other building systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all building equipment.
• Assemble and Commission Data Center equipment.
• Prepare Change Management Forms and MOPs.
• Schedule maintenance procedures with vendors.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and PPE.
• Respond quickly to emergency situations and customer concerns.
