Job summary

Digital Realty is seeking a Lead Engineer to expand skills while supporting mission critical infrastructure facilities operations for a premier data center provider. You will ensure 365/24/7 coverage, oversee maintenance, and coordinate with teams to keep power, cooling, and systems running reliably.

Ideal candidates have AA/AS or equivalent, data center experience, and strong HVAC/electrical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (AA/AS) or an equivalent combination of education and experience; data center experience is strongly preferred.
• Trade license or certification acquired through technical education/training.
• Facilities maintenance certification.
• Experience working with mission critical data equipment, and the willingness to work in a fast-paced, mission critical environment.
• Strong HVAC, mechanical, and electrical skills.
• An understanding of computer systems, and skill with Microsoft Office products.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift, at least one weekend day each week, and unscheduled overtime as needed to complete projects or break-fixes.
• The ability to walk around a good deal of the time to perform inspections, to do some work outdoors in the weather if needed, and to lift heavy objects.

Responsibilities

• Monitor building infrastructure systems and ensure continuous operation.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, and other building systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Assemble and commission Data Center equipment.
• Prepare Change Management Forms and Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
• Schedule maintenance procedures with vendors.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and protective equipment.
• Respond to emergency situations and customer concerns as needed.
