Job summary

Brown & Brown Insurance is seeking a Lead Data Analyst for the Retail Digital Innovation & Insights Group. You will partner with senior leaders to translate questions into analytic plans and deliver timely, executive-ready insights.

You will own analytics for retail performance, productivity, and revenue, mentor analysts, and collaborate with BI engineers to ensure accurate, governed metrics and scalable dashboards.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, financial analysis, retail analytics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with senior business stakeholders and translate complex business questions into actionable analysis.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with governed datasets, semantic models, reporting layers, or enterprise data warehouses.
• Experience with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and data storytelling skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary analytical partner and point of contact for retail leadership data requests.
• Translate leadership questions into analytical plans, data requirements, success measures, and executive-ready outputs.
• Deliver recurring and ad hoc analysis on retail performance, producer productivity, book segmentation, sales activity, revenue, margin, and operational trends.
• Create narratives, visual summaries, and recommendations to illuminate performance drivers, risks, opportunities, and actions.
• Partner with BI, data engineering, and data product teams to ensure leadership-facing reporting is accurate and governed.
• Identify opportunities to convert ad hoc requests into scalable dashboards and self-service assets.
• Maintain knowledge of retail processes, data sources, definitions, and data quality considerations.
• Mentor analysts on analytical approach, storytelling, stakeholder communication, and QA practices.
