Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking a Director of Cybersecurity to lead enterprise security strategy, SOC operations, and compliance from our Playa Vista, CA office. You will own security governance, incident response readiness, and threat management, partnering with IT, engineering, and executive leadership.

The role demands deep technical expertise, strategic oversight, and strong leadership to protect information assets in regulated environments across aerospace and government programs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in cybersecurity operations, including 4+ years in SOC leadership or security management.
• Experience leading programs (CMMC, ISO 27001 and/or NIST 800-53/800-171) with audits.
• Proficiency in security tooling and scripting; strong networking and OS knowledge.
• Leadership, analytical, and stakeholder communication skills; US person eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive security strategy and multi-year roadmap.
• Direct SOC operations and incident response for 24/7 monitoring and escalation.
• Oversee threat hunting, malware analysis, and threat intel integration.
• Own security tooling selection, tuning, and KPI reporting; drive automation.
• Lead risk assessments, audits, and continuous monitoring.
