Job summary

Rivian in California seeks a Lead Creative Designer for the Design and Standards team to own concept development for scalable prototypical standards and contribute to flagship projects that push the brand forward.

You will translate brand direction into executable designs, working closely with the Standards team, cross-functional partners, and external architects and engineers to ensure quality and alignment across locations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional architecture or interior design experience.
• Degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
• Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, Figma and modern 3D Spatial software.
• Strong design development experience with FF&E and millwork detailing.
• Ability to align creative work with financial constraints and scalability.
• Onsite work at assigned location 3–5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Translate brand direction into executable designs and lead concept design for new customer touchpoints and scalable standards.
• Own design development on select special projects and flagships from programming to final documentation.
• Balance aesthetic, functional, operational, and financial needs with cross-functional teams.
• Specify smart material and finish choices that are durable and sourceable.
• Collaborate with external architects and engineers to preserve design intent through execution.
• Work with Construction Managers to provide guidance and participate in Construction Administration.
