Job summary

Amity Foundation in Susanville, CA seeks a Supervising Counselor to support the Program Director and supervise AOD Counselors and OMCP Mentors in day-to-day programming. The role involves overseeing internship hours, ensuring ARMS compliance, and coordinating with CDCR contacts to maintain program standards.

The position emphasizes coaching, staff evaluation, and maintaining participant confidentiality within a therapeutic community focused on addiction and re-entry initiatives.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a certified AOD Counselor
• Certified as an AOD Counselor with a DHCS-approved organization
• Strong organizational, leadership and time management skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to contractual requirements

Responsibilities

• Supervise approximately six AOD Counseling/Peer Navigator staff
• Evaluate staff performance and provide coaching and training
• Track and monitor Contractor staff performance; implement corrective measures as needed
• Assess and monitor counseling staff progress toward AOD certification
• Supervise orientation and intake processes for new participants
• Approve and monitor SUD relapse prevention/CBI action plan development
• Track participant data including staff assignments and progress
• Provide training and monitoring of ARMS documentation
• Coordinate and supervise OMCP Mentors
• Support and resources to complete certification process and practice Core Functions
• Verify internship hours for staff and mentors
• Record internship hours monthly by the fifth
• Verification of Internship Hours form in ARMS
• Collaborate with CDCR/CDCR headquarters, local institution, and contracted staff
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Contractor
