Job summary

Amity Foundation in California is seeking a Supervising Counselor to support program leadership and supervise AOD Counselors and OMCP Mentors within our prison and re-entry initiatives. This role helps advance our shift toward evidence-based practices and community reintegration.

You will oversee staff performance, ensure compliance with ARMS and contract terms, facilitate training, and coordinate internship hours. The position is temporary, with a hourly rate of $38, offering no benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of experience as a certified AOD Counselor, at a responsibility no less than a Counselor III.
• Certified as an AOD Counselor with an organization approved by DHCS, and two (2) years’ experience as a certified AOD counselor.

Responsibilities

• Supervise approximately six (6) AOD Counseling/Peer Navigator staff.
• Evaluate staff performance and provide coaching and training.
• Track and monitor Contractor staff performance, including corrective measures.
• Assess and monitor counseling staff progress towards AOD certification.
• Supervise orientation and intake processes for new participants.
• Approve and monitor SUD relapse prevention/CBI action plan development.
• Track participant data and progress across stages of program participation.
• Provide training to AOD Counseling staff and OMCP Mentors.
• Coordinate and supervise OMCP Mentors.
• Ensure internship hours are recorded and reported monthly.
