Job summary

Relativity seeks a Senior Counsel for AI & Legal Technology to guide AI-related legal strategy, product development, and customer-facing terms. You will partner with Engineering, Product, Marketing and Partner teams to shape policy and mitigate risk while enabling rapid product innovation.

You will monitor AI regulatory developments, draft internal frameworks, and negotiate with vendors and partners, using legal tech tools to streamline processes and ensure compliant go-to-market activities.

Qualifications

• Six (6) or more years of relevant experience in-house and/or at a law firm supporting technology initiatives.
• Experience with software development, open source licensing issues, including OSI-approved license compliance, OEM licensing; API terms, SaaS agreements.
• Background in marketing law, including knowledge of FTC and applicable state laws.
• Strong understanding of technology, including legal tech, cloud services, software licensing models, open source, information security, privacy, IP, and regulatory considerations.
• Experience supporting AI-enabled products, legal technology, and emerging technology issues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communicator who can explain complex legal concepts to non-lawyers without oversimplifying.
• Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset - you identify risk and propose a path forward, not a stop sign.
• Deep knowledge of the AI regulatory landscape (U.S. and international).
• Desirable: basic IP and proprietary rights knowledge.
• Desirable: experience advising product/marketing teams in fast-paced tech.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead legal representative for enterprise AI, product development, marketing and legal technology.
• Provide creative, strategic legal advice and business counsel on commercial, operational and strategic issues.
• Identify issues and develop practical solutions for stakeholders.
• Engage with customers to ensure understanding and delivery.
• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Customer Success, Partner, and Strategy teams.
• Suggest process improvements and contract language to increase efficiency.
• Leverage AI legal technology tools to improve workflows and decision making.
• Proficient with AI tools, legal tech, MS Office, Salesforce, Ironclad and Asana.
