Job summary

Pearson in the United States seeks an experienced editor to lead editorial tasks within Assessment & Qualifications. You will ensure high-quality copy editing, consistency, and timely delivery across assessment content.

You will mentor junior editors, collaborate with Content and CDS, and apply AI-enabled tools while upholding copyright, bias, and accessibility standards in every publication. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Michigan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent certification/training.
• 3+ years editorial experience and 2 years educational assessment experience.
• Strong copyediting: spelling, grammar, punctuation, style and usage.
• Familiar with major style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, Gregg, Garner’s).
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and MS Office 365 apps.
• Basic HTML/XML for web publishing.

Responsibilities

• Apply grammar, spelling, usage and style per standards across assessment components.
• Ensure consistency across assessment components and minimize mistakes.
• Apply client style guidelines and query deviations when needed.
• Understand scope of copyeditor and escalate when necessary.
• Develop training materials and share knowledge across teams.
• Lead editors, coordinate schedules and communicate status.
