Job summary

Big Cedar Lodge is seeking a Cook to prepare and portion foods for the resort’s outlets. The role requires strong skills in soups, stocks, grilling and roasting, with safe knife handling and kitchen equipment operation.

The candidate will assist in training new cooks, maintain cleanliness, and may lead the kitchen in the Sous Chef’s absence, following the established chain of command and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree is high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred associate degree in culinary field or related program.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Two to four years of related experience or equivalent education.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion foods for resort outlets.
• Make soups, stocks, grill and roasts with varied methods.
• Handle knives and operate kitchen equipment safely.
• Lead kitchen in the absence of a Sous Chef.
• Train new cooks and assist in maintaining cleanliness.
• Follow the kitchen chain of command and perform other duties.
