Job summary

Desert Diamond Casinos & Entertainment seeks a Lead Cook to supervise and prepare food items per production sheets in a fast-paced casino kitchen. You will delegate tasks, ensure safe stock levels, and maintain clean, organized work areas in compliance with health regulations.

Requirements include 3 years cooking experience, 1 year supervisory experience, ability to obtain Food Handler’s Card and TIPS certification, and strong English communication. Position is on-site in Arizona.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 3 years cooking experience.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience as Lead Cook/Saucier.
• Must obtain Food Handler’s Card.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No felony, theft or stealing convictions.
• Pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background check.
• Ability to obtain TIPS certification.
• Ability to communicate in basic English.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Cooks a variety of foods according to the menu and demand of the business.
• Reads, understands, follows, and creates standardized recipes.
• Maintains safe par levels and proper stock levels.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitized work area.
• Delegates tasks to Cooks, Prep Cooks, and Kitchen Stewards.
• Ensures venues are ready to open by designated time set by management.
• Maintains food storage areas, equipment, and work stations.
• Maintains professional communication and teamwork.
• Performs other duties as required.
