Job summary

Desert Diamond Casino West Valley is seeking an experienced Lead Cook to assist the Sous Chef in preparing high-volume cuisine across multiple venues. You will delegate tasks, supervise cooks, and ensure recipes and standards are consistently followed, while maintaining safety and sanitation.

You’ll work in a fast-paced casino kitchen, training staff, managing stock levels, and upholding quality and guest service in a dynamic environment with a focus on teamwork and excellence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred and three years of recent cook experience are required.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience as Lead Cook/Saucier or equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Must be 18 years or older; no felony, theft or stealing convictions.

Responsibilities

• Cooks a variety of foods in quantities according to the menu and demand.
• Uses and teaches proper knife skills, cooking techniques, and terminology.
• Reads and follows standardized recipes for all foods in venues/outlets.
• Maintains and communicates about foods/products to ensure safe par and stock levels.
• Delegates tasks to Cooks, Prep Cooks, and Kitchen Stewards.
• Maintains clean, organized, and sanitized work area following health regulations.
