Job summary

TarponBayou is seeking a cook to manage and operate the kitchen when the Dietary Supervisor is absent. You will prepare meals in large quantities, follow menus, and ensure safe handling and sanitation across the kitchen.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, at least one year of hospital or long-term care cooking experience, and a ServSafe certificate. PCC knowledge and public health compliance are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least one year.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
• Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred.
• Must remain in good standing with the Department of Public Health.

Responsibilities

• Manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
• Prepare large quantities of meals following prepared menus and portion controls.
• Record food temperatures and prepare special diets as required.
• Supervise dietary staff when needed and assist with serving meals.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of cooking areas and equipment.
